Kibatu

Hi, I’m Kibatu G Medhin. I was born in May 1986 in Woreda, Wukro, 45 kilometers north of Makale, the capital of the Tigrai region in Ethiopia.

I attended my primary studies in Agulae and the secondary ones in Wukro (1995 and 2003). From 2004 to 2007 I studied Agriculture. Then I entered the university where in 2011 I graduated in Art and Business Administration. Finally in 2014 I graduated as a postgraduate at the Makale University in Gender and Development Studies. Since 2014 I am working as an expert in the Women’s Association of Kilte Awlealo Woreda in Wukro, Tigrai.

I am currently the Director of the first Carula Center in Agulae and I am extremely happy to help these wonderful and talented girls to have access to higher education and to aim for a better life.

Tsege

Hi, I’m Tsege Abadi Hailu. I was born in May 1984 in Woreda Kilte Awlaelo in the Kebele Debretsion, 25 kilometers north of Wukro.

I studied primary and secondary school at Wukro. In 2004 I obtained the diploma of Plant Sciences from the College of Agriculture of Wukro. Then I enrolled at the University of Makale, where I graduated in 2010 as a graduate in Plant Sciences. Later I studied Ethiopian Public Services, graduating for the second time in 2017.

Work experience:
2005- 2009 Agent for the development of Sciences on Plants in three Kebeles.
2010 – 2011 Expert in Plant Sciences, Woredo.
2012 – 2014 Head of the Sports Department for young people.
2015 – 2017 I work for the Civil Service University in Addis Ababa to study and prepare my subsequent graduation in the Ethiopian Civil Service.
2018 – … Head of the Central Office of the “Women’s Affairs” department in Kilte – Awlaelo Woredo.

I am happy to be able to participate in the activities of the Carula Foundation, helping girls in rural areas and contributing to the future growth of this project.

Luis Flox

Luis Flox was born on June 11, 1975 in Ciudad Real.

He holds a degree in Economics from UNED and is an expert in spanish and international tax matters.

For several years he was responsible for the fiscal department at AFFIRMA CONSULTORES. Today he is a Senior Manager of FAR ASESORES in Madrid.

He is married to Patricia Medina Álvarez and they have a daughter and a son.

Luis advises and gives invaluable support to the Foundation.

Alejandro Carretoni

Alejandro Carretoni (Ale), 39 years old, graduated with a degree in Kinesiology and Physiatry from the University of Buenos Aires.

He practices his profession in several hospitals, private consultations and sport centers. In 2014 he travels to Ethiopia to Father Angel’s mission in Wukro (Tigrai) as a voluteer.

Currently he continues to work in Wukro as a volunteer, performing functions in the local hospital and collaborating with the athletic team. Together with Maria Jesus Martín Barcala (Maje), his wife, he directs as a volunteer the project of the Carula Home in Agulae, Tigrai.

Maria Jesus Martín Barcala

Maria Jesus Martín Barcala (Maje) spanish/peruvian, 33 years old, studies Teaching in Special Education and Music Therapy.

As well, she carries out studies related to the formation of different groups at risk or social exclusion. She has worked with groups of children and adolescents, especially in the field of non-formal education and with various groups of people with integration difficulties (mostly women). For six years she has been working as a volunteer in the mission of Father Angel, collaborating with the Office of Education and the elementary schools of the area, focusing on giving children (with special needs) better attention ability and access to study.

At this moment, together with her husband Alejandro Carrettoni (Ale), she directs as a volunteer the project of the Carula Home Center in Agulae, Tigrai.

Angel Olaran

Angel Olaranis ordained a priest at the age of 33 in the Society of the Missionaries of Africa.

He works 20 years in Tabora, Tanzania, with the Wanyamwezi in three parishes, deepening in the social dimension of Christianity.

At the end of 1992 he accepts the invitation of his superiors to go to Adigrat, Ethiopia, and collaborate in the construction and maintenance of a secondary school in Wukro.

Currently the school has 800 students.

He also has created various programs, which he actively supports such as: caring for the orphans, the elderly, underfed children, mini-credit programs for women and young people of both sexes, rehabilitation of torrents, reforestation, construction of reservoirs, water Wells as well as supporting young girls so that they can attend high school and have access to university …

Jose Luis Criado Perez Trefault

Jose Luis has more than thirty years of experience in the business of Fleets of Renting and Mobility Companies, being a forerunner of Renting in several countries.

For 23 years he was a director of LeasePlan, holding positions as Head of Spain, then of southern Europe and LATAM and finally as Managing Director of LeasePlan International, a position he held until the end of 2016.

He has been founding President of the Spanish Renting Association, is Director of the Automotive Think Tank at IE Business School, member of the AIAFA Advisory Board, Member of the Advisory Board of Fleet Latam, co-author of the “Renting White Paper” published by IE Bussines School and PWC and in 2016 he has been awarded the “International Fleet Hall of Fame Award”.

Since 2017 he has returned to his activity as an independent consultant in Fleets and Mobility.

Carlos Maria Criado Perez Trefault

Carlos Maria Criado Perez Trefault was born in Buenos Aires in 1952. He emigrated to Spain at the age of twenty.

During 35 years his profession takes him to live with his family to more than eleven countries occupying positions of relevance in the industry of the distribution of consumer products. In 2007 he falls in love with Ula with whom he marries in 2009. Today they live in Tarifa where he dedicates himself to his new occupations.

Among other positions he occupied the following:

– Director of Operations of Walmart International 1998- 1999 (USA)
– Managing Director of Safeway PLC 1999-2004 (England)
– President of Supersol 2004 – 2008 (Spain)

– Member of the Advisory Council of UBS (Union de Banque Suisse)
– Non-Executive Board Member and Senior Adviser of X-5 (Russia)
– Member of the Non-Executive Board of Ontex (Belgium)

Ursula Walter Kruse

Ursula Walter Kruse (Ula) was born in Madrid in 1957. After finishing her studies she lives in Denmark, Austria, New Zealand, Australia and Italy.

In 1984 she moves to Tarifa where she starts the first tourist complex “100% Fun”. A teacher of Jazz Ballet and Pilates, she is also an accomplished artist and her work has been exhibited in many galleries. Today she lives happily in Tarifa with her husband Carlos.
