Our shelter in Agulae houses 31 girls. It has four large bedrooms, a study/dining room, a kitchen and sanitary facilities. The secondary school, which the girls attend daily, is only a 5 minutes walk. The school day is divided into two shifts morning and afternoon.
The other activities and classes of English and Spanish are taught in our shelter at the end of the afternoon and during the weekends.
The sponsorship of a girl is essential to achieve, the stability, well being and continuity of the education of each girl. Becoming a sponsor and contributing with a monthly or annual amount you become key to the solution of the problem.
We would like to introduce ourselves. Meet the members of our team or get in touch with us. We would be pleased to hear from you.
Carlos and I want to send a big hug and our very special thanks for being there, supporting the Carula Foundation. When the trajectory of a project is interrupted by a war, and the rules of the game are changed so drastically, it is easy to become frustrated and throw the towel. Not having fluid communication, not being able to enter the region, not having reliable data on the country’s politics and, of course, very little, sometimes causes us unease.

Several months have passed and the situation in Tigray is calming down. There are no more soldiers in the streets and the population is finding its new rhythm. The government has not restored internet and banking services. Schools have not yet opened. The situation is still very precarious, but international aid is arriving! So the prospects are much better.
